No limits in a Suzuki Jimny

The Suzuki Jimny is powered by a 1.5l engine that generates strong torque and offers exceptional fuel efficiency.

South Africans love the Suzuki Jimny for its rugged 4×4 capability. I attended a 4×4 challenge earlier this year, not in this Jimny, and was amazed by its ability to conquer any terrain. It certainly put other leading brands to shame.

There was a lot of hype among my friends as to when I was going to drive the Jimny. When the day arrived, they all wanted a ride in the Suzuki Jimny 5-door.

The Jimny has that attraction and I assume it’s the boxy styling, the uncompromising off-road capability and the overall trust, not only here in SA, but globally.

Suzuki Jimny 5 door is cool to take on any adventure.

I recently read an article that the Jimny has massive waiting lists in Australia and is sought after in the UK.
The Suzuki Jimny 5-door allows outdoor enthusiasts to explore the most remote trails, beaches, and bushveld without the bulk or price tag of traditional, oversized SUVs. Space might be an issue, but if you’re a Jimny enthusiast, it’s not a problem.

There’s just something about the Jimny that brought out its fun side. You can create incredible moments and memories, secure in the knowledge that it won’t cost an arm and a leg to service or repair.

I enjoyed every drive and found it nippy with its 1.5l naturally aspirated, 4-cylinder petrol engine. The engine generates 75kW of power and 130Nm of torque and is equipped with 4WD and low-range transfer gear.

The claimed fuel consumption averages about 6.4l/100km. There’s a ground clearance of 210mm and a 211 litre luggage capacity. Hill hold and descent control, rear-view camera and 15’alloy wheels come standard.

I found the 5-door more practical and I enjoyed the high seats. The Jimny is certainly gravel hungry, built for those who want to shift their mood from tar into the wild.
