Sports and Specials visit Oribi
A number of interesting cars joined the January breakfast run.
AFTER their December break, ‘Sports and Specials’ car enthusiasts were more than ready to start the new year with a scenic drive followed by a tasty and congenial breakfast-with-a-view.
There was a good turnout for the first breakfast run last week and a head-turning line-up of gorgeous cars, classic and contemporary, was soon on its way, heading inland to the Oribi area.
The car owners enjoyed the chance to negotiate the twists and turns along the lush, green tunnel that is the beautiful road through Oribi Gorge. When they reached the other side of the gorge they were more than ready for breakfast at the popular Leopard Rock Restaurant.
A regular Sports and Specials breakfast venue, Leopard Rock, once again took the checkered flag when it came to providing good service and excellent food. Overlooking the Mzimkhulu Gorge, it was also a winner for its wonderful views.
Sports and Specials is an informal, non-constituted group of car enthusiasts who dust the cobwebs off their special cars once a month to take them for a breakfast run. It is a friendly group and newcomers with any sort of interesting vehicles, sporty or sedate, vintage, classic or contemporary, are always welcome.
