Ethan Christian School finds a new home

At the moment, the school only has space for enrolment in grades RR and R.

ETHAN Christian School (ECS) opened its doors for the first time in 2012 at the home of principal Elizabeth Robertson. This year ECS opened its doors to its new home at the Genesis Youth Centre in Marburg. The move from the Bethanien Lutheran Church came out of necessity and a vision for the school’s future. “We needed bigger premises. I had 95 students and a waiting list with 30 names on it and did not want to send these pupils away,” principal Robertson said. The new location means that Ethan students will soon have access to extracurricular activities such as sports, music, gym and community service, which the school did not have facilities or staff for before. School administrators are also excited about the partnership with the Genesis Youth team and the opportunities for mentoring and community involvement this relationship offers. At the moment, the school only has space for enrolment in grades RR and R.
