Taxi and car collide near Southbroom

Both vehicles flipped and came to a standstill next to the R61 near Southbroom.

SIXTEEN people were injured, three seriously in an accident on the R61 just before Southbroom earlier today.

Spokesman for Kwazulu Private Ambulance, Belinda Catchpole, said it is it appears a water tank fell off the back of a vehicle on the main road.

“A taxi and an SUV both swerved to avoid the tank and collided with each other. Both vehicles flipped and came to a standstill in the field,” she said.

All emergency services worked together and all patients were stabilised before being taken to various hospitals.
