Lions support sports centre project
A not-for-profit youth organisation received a generous donation.
THE Port Shepstone not-for-profit youth organisation, Youthworx, is one step closer to completing its stunning new sports centre, thanks to a generous donation.
At a recent meeting, the Port Shepstone Lions voted to hand over the handsome sum of R30 000 to help fund the Youthworx sports centre. Members of the youth organisation were at the meeting and they gratefully accepted this generous donation, which will be go towards building costs.
The Youthworx Christian community centre in Port Shepstone is a venue where children and youths can play, learn and connect with each other in a safe environment.
Over the years it has become a thriving hub for young people, encouraging socialising and creativity. The organisation guides and mentors young people from a Christian perspective through its youth programmes, but is non-denominational and welcomes young people from all walks of life.
The Youthworx building was donated by a local family. However, as a not-for-profit organisation, Youthworx relies greatly on support from local businesses and donations from the community of Port Shepstone to maintain it as a valuable youth centre.
