Car plunges into river

The driver landed up in the water.

THE driver of a light motor vehicle had a lucky escape on Saturday afternoon when his car left the road and landed in the Mbango River.

The accident happened in Marine Drive, Oslo Beach at around 5pm.

According to spokesman for Kwazulu Private Ambulance, Belinda Catchpole, the man, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was not injured.

In a separate accident a man was moderately injured when he lost control of his vehicle in Margate last Sunday morning.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance paramedics were called to the scene at around 4am.

The patient was treated and transported to hospital in a stable condition.

Last night Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a pedestrian accident in Seaslopes Road near the Margate Country Club.  Paramedics found the man lying on the ground with serious injuries.

After he was stabilised he was transported to a hospital in Port Shepstone.
