Sheppie High hears about drugs and street safety

Anyone who has information about illegal firearms or drugs is encouraged to contact the police.

PORT Shepstone High gr 8 and 10 pupils were visited on Monday this week by Lieutenant Shireen Michael and Constable Roxy Mrawushe from the Port Shepstone crime prevention unit.

The officers gave an educational talk about drugs, street safety, bullying in schools and the issue of pupils carrying dangerous weapons on the school premises.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said pupils were cautioned not to talk on their cellphones while walking in the street as they cold be targeted by criminals. “They were also told about the dangers of drug abuse and the consequences of bullying,” she added.
