Islamic School pupils show compassion

Foundation phase pupils played games on Astro courts, frolicked on jumping castles and refuelled on delicious treats.

ISLAMIC School’s Foundation Phase pupils donned fun gear and headed off to the Astro Arena for their first fun-event, a teddy bear fun day. The highlight of the day was the arrival of Timone, the meerkat, who delighted pupils.

With Port Shepstone streets lined with pensioners from far and wide negotiating long queues in the scorching heat, gr 12 pupils took to the streets distributing cold water, juice and sandwiches. Gr 8, 9 and 11 pupils also distributed sandwiches at the Port Shepstone Clinic. This forms part of the school’s social responsibility project.

Last Friday evening parents and pupils attended a careers awareness presentation on tertiary institution requirements and career trends in South Africa’s political and economic background. Gr 9 pupils took part in a ‘My career, my future’ self-discovery workshop last Saturday.

Gr 4 learned all about different butterflies at Butterfly Valley and watched aircraft land and take off at Margate Airport. They were also treated to a hands-on display of fire trucks.
