Islamic School donates to charity

Pupils collected 589 cans for donation to the Bhobhoyi and Gamalakhe communities.

PORT Shepstone Islamic School’s annual Quraan Completion successfully took place last Wednesday. An hour was dedicated to the recitation of the Quraan and pupils were rewarded with personalised drawstring bags. The course concluded with a motivational talk by Moulana Abdul Aziz. Pupils collected 589 cans for donation to the Bhobhoyi and Gamalakhe communities as part of the ‘Collect-a-Can’ campaign.

At midnight last Friday, 21 FET phase boys went on an educational team-building excursion to the Drakensburg for a tour of the 52-storey underground TUVA Hydro Electric Project. The boys indulged in raft building, problem-solving, swimming, archery, zip-lining, volleyball, mini-golf, abseiling, and hiking at the ATKV resort. Gr 12 girls went on an excursion to the Old Pont Water World last Saturday.

Young orators presented their public speaking skills at the prelim contest. The final event will be held in the school hall on Tuesday, March 1 at 7pm.
