MERLEWOOD Primary pupils celebrated ‘Read Aloud Day’ last Wednesday. Each phase had to prepare to read and grades R and 1 pupils chose to read a story entitled ‘Lulu’ from the Nalibali newspaper. The total number of pupils who took part was forwarded to the newspaper at their invitation.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed ‘Lulu’ with teacher Claudette Niemack dramatically playing the role of ‘Lulu’, which added interest in the story and made them eager to continue reading.
