A SOUTHPORT woman (45) employed by a Port Shepstone firm of attorneys was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment (half suspended conditionally) for stealing R869 016 over three years.
Regional Magistrate Johann Bester asked that the woman’s name not be published to protect her school-going children.
She was employed in 2010 and stole the money during the last three years on 182 occasions. She was responsible for making business payments and channelled amounts into her own account.
