Woman (25) escapes rapist
The man told her to remove her clothing and then cut off her underwear.
A WOMAN narrowly escaped being raped when she was attacked outside a tavern at Masinenge informal settlement in Margate.
She suffered a swollen upper lip and a laceration to her hand.
“At about 2am the woman left the tavern. While she was outside, a man approached her, kicked her and held her at knife point,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“The man instructed her to remove her clothing. He then cut off her underwear but before he could rape her, he was disturbed by other patrons from the tavern.”
He fled and the woman called for help. Margate police are investigating a case of attempted rape and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
No arrests have been made so far.
