WATCH: Couple en route to completing 900km for charity

The couple need your support to raise funds. Meet them in Port Edward tomorrow (Saturday).

FORMER radio personality Phindi Gule-Burley and her husband Kevin Burley are close to their 30 day challenge that will end in Port Edward tomorrow (Saturday), April 30.

The couple set off on their ‘Run KZN With Us’ adventure on April 1. The challenge is to run along length of KwaZulu-Natal’s coastline, from Mozambique border, outside Kosi Bay, to Port Edward over a period of 30 days.

Their main reason is to raise funds for LIV Village, which cares for over 200 orphans in Verulam in Durban. Besides the fact that they are a mixed race couple they want to inspire people to live a healthier lifestyle, stand up against racism and invite all South Africans especially all KZN people to explore their beautiful province. The couple are covering 900kms and have run 30 kms a day. They take water/snack breaks after every 3kms.

We hope that people will support us in this challenge by making donations to help raise the necessary R120 000,” said Mr Burley. We have battled with some physical problems along the way especially when we started. But now we are stronger and can’t wait to end the challenge at Port Edward.

So if you spot this amazing couple remember that they are running to raise funds for a children’s safe haven.

The couple are aiming to be at Caribbean Estates at about 1pm.
