TWO teenagers were arrested last week for stealing a… water tanker!
A 15-year-old appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court together with his co-accused.
“The recovered truck, a water tanker, has since been returned to the lawful owner from Creighton,” said Captain Vincent Pandarum.
The driver of the water tanker parked the vehicle at his work-site camp in Qoloqolo Ward, Umtwalume at around 2pm.
“When he returned the following day at 7am, it was missing,” said Captain Pandarum.
The truck was located on a dirt road near the Selborne Golf Club. Sourcing information from a vast informer network, Detective Constable Cliffy Pillay, of the Scottburgh Cluster Detective Task Team – together with detective warrant officer Yugen Moodley, Detective Constable Weidon Govender, Warrant Officer Paul Loubser and Constable Skhumbuzo Maphumulo of the Umzinto K9 Unit – went to Malangeni where they located and arrested the suspects.
One of the suspects was in possession of the truck keys.
