Husband and wife robbed in Southbroom
The robbers gained entry into the house by forcing the sliding door open.
A COUPLE was robbed at their Churchill Road, Southbroom home at about 10pm last Monday.
According to police reports, the man awoke when he heard a banging sound in the basement. “He went to investigate and saw three men, carrying an axe and a screwdriver.
The intruders asked the man if there was money on the premises before one of them struck the man twice.
“They then went upstairs into the bedroom and instructed the woman to remove her wedding ring,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.
The men fled, taking three cellphones, jewellery, watches, five cameras, wallets, an Apple iPad and two pairs of binoculars.
It is believed that the men gained entry to the house by forcing the sliding door open.
