A MOTORIST travelling towards Durban crashed his vehicle after he hit a large boulder which was placed on the N2 highway near Umgababa.
The motorist pulled off to the side of the road and attempted to telephone for assistance.
“He was then approached by three men who robbed him at knife-point,” said police spokesman, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
The men fled with three cellphones, an iPad and the victim’s wallet.
The vehicle was extensively damaged as a result of the crash.
“Charges of malicious damage to property and robbery are being investigated by Detective Warrant Officer Anthony Naidoo of the Umkomaas SAPS Detective Service,” said Captain Pandarum.
