Gardener arrested for stealing firearm
The firearm was stolen from a Trafalgar home.
MARGATE police arrested a 19-year-old gardener for being possession of a firearm and ammunition in Gclima near Southbroom on Tuesday last week.
A burglary had taken place at a home in Trafalgar and was reported to Margate SAPS.
“The home owner suspected the gardener and police tracked the man to his house in Bhokodisa,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.
Police found a 9mm firearm and 49 rounds of ammunition which belonged to the Trafalgar home owner.
Detectives are also investigating possible links to other cases in Margate.
