Update: RAF case slowly unfolds
The case is expected to be finalised late next year.
THE ongoing case against a large fraud syndicate operating on the South Coast has been postponed to November 9.
The case involves false Road Accident Fund (RAF) claims and is not expected to be finalised until late next year.
A doctor, a prison warder and a police reservist from the South Coast have been linked to the fraud.
The syndicate allegedly sold false RAF claims to attorneys in Pretoria.
In 2014, the court heard that Dr Fortune Busisiwo Tandekile Cemane and Faith Rozani faced 44 charges of fraud, amounting to the value of R 17.1-million. Dr Cemane, from Harding, was granted bail of R60 000.
The case was cracked by the RAF forensics investigation department.
The accused are being represented by attorney Larry Seethal from Seethal Attorneys.
