Knife-wielding man targets women
Women walking alone have been targeted in Margate Extension Three.
TWO women were threatened and robbed in Brown Street, Margate Extension Three, over the weekend.
In the latest incident a 64-year-old woman was robbed while out walking at about 11am on Sunday.
“She was approached by a man who threatened her with a knife,” said police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka.
The robber fled, taking the woman’s handbag.
Another woman was robbed while walking along the same street last Saturday at about 2pm.
The 23-year-old woman was also threatened by a man holding a knife, who then fled taking the woman’s cellphone, ID and handbag.
“The public need to be alert at all times. If possible, walk against the flow traffic or walk with another person,” said Captain Mfeka.
