JUST IN: Cash in transit shoot-out leaves one dead

Another man has life-threatening injuries and one is being treated for shock.

THERE is a massive police presence on the N2 near Izingolweni at the moment after a cash in transit shoot-out earlier this morning.

According to police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, one of the alleged robbers has been shot dead.

“The shoot-out occurred at Tufukezi. Police are searching for the other suspects who attacked a cash-in-transit vehicle,” said Captain Mfeka.

According to Chris Botha, spokesman for Netcare 911,  a second man has life-threatening injuries and one is being treated for shock.

He added that the N2 is closed at the moment.

Further information is awaited from the police.
