‘Talk’ works, but where’s the ‘action’?

Prepare yourself by keeping fresh water stored.

AT least Ugu’s new communications system seems to have improved after much grumbling to the press and on social media.

However, frustrated consumers are now saying they are fed-up with complaining about the same issues.

One irate caller said: “We concede Ugu is now ‘talking’ at last, but what are they ‘doing’… or planning to do in the long term?”

This week most have had to put up with water shedding due to the upgrading of Ugu’s Boboyi plant.

Ramsgate North, Margate Ext 3, Uvongo, Shelly Beach and Oslo Beach, as well as Gamalakhe, Nyandezulu and Nosithaare reminded that on Thursday, September 8 and Thursday, September 15, they will again be affected, this time from 6am to 5pm on both days.

Although Port Edward to Munster residents were not affected by the upgrade, a burst pipe added to mix of moans.

Residents from 1st and 4th Street in Port Edward expressed their concerns via the new Ugu Municipality Talk page.

Municipal manager DD Naidoo advised communities to store fresh water if they were affected by water shedding.

“Relief supply will be on standby should the need arise,” said Mr Naidoo.

Customers were urged to contact the call centre at 0800092837 to report problems.
