Armed robbers raid supermarket

AN armed robber held a security guard at gunpoint while four other robbers broke into Moodley’s Craigieburn Super Spar.
They grabbed the victim, covering his face and tying his hands together.
He was taken to a nearby soccer field and forced to lie down while the other men went to the store.
The store’s security manager, Basan Mothilall, confirmed that the robbers gained entry by breaking open a security door and then breaking through a concrete wall.

Cigarettes to the estimated value of R1 200 were stolen, as was the following day’s cash float, thought to be around R4 000.
The guard’s cellphone was also stolen.
Cases of armed robbery and theft were registered for investigation at the Umkomaas SAPS.
No arrests have been made as yet. The security guard was unharmed.
