A Man has been arrested in connection with the rape of a Montclair woman at a golf estate in Pennington recently.
The man (31) is supposedly friend of the victim and appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court last week.
The woman (27) had attended a function at the estate with friends. She retired to her room at about 2am.
She later awoke to find one of the men from her group of friends on top of her, engaging in sexual intercourse.
“Despite her attempts to push him off he continued to rape her,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
After her ordeal, the woman got dressed and reported the incident to the estate’s security office.
Scottburgh SAPS were contacted and the man was arrested.
The case was postponed October 25 for further investigation.
Detective Warrant Officer Peter Hattingh of the Scottburgh SAPS Detective Services is the investigating officer.
