Robbery suspect dies after mob attack
People are warned not to take the law into their own hands.
AN alleged robber has died after being assaulted by an angry mob near the Port Shepstone taxi rank on Monday this week.
He was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and died soon after arrival.
“Port Shepstone detectives are investigating a murder case,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. “We are appealing to the community not to take the law into their own hands, but to come forward with information and hand over suspects to us.”
She added that the necessary investigation procedures have to be followed and a perpetrator brought before a court.
