Women targeted in Sheppie
The police have issued a warning to shoppers in Port Shepstone CBD.
WOMEN visiting the Port Shepstone CBD are warned to be vigilant and to think twice about wearing expensive jewellery.
On Tuesday this week, a woman walking in Woolley Street had her jewellery snatched from her neck by a man who then fled. Police are investigating.
Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid also warned people to be careful when carrying handbags, wallets or cellphones.
“Especially at this time of the year, criminals are acutely aware that shoppers are preparing for the festive period and will therefore be on the lookout for any opportunity to grab valuables,” she said.
