Woman critical after being shot

Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.

A HIBBERDENE woman is fighting for her life after she was shot multiple times at her house in the Dingimbiza area on Tuesday this week.

Police say that the shooting took place at 11.30am, but they were only notified later in the day.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the woman (41) was asleep in a room and another woman was taking a bath in the adjacent room.

“The woman taking a bath heard screaming, followed by gunshots. She went to investigate and found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to her body,” said Lt-Col Wiid.

It is claimed that a group of men entered the room and fired shots at the woman. She was taken  to hospital in a critical condition.

An attempted murder case is being investigated. Anyone with information is asked to contact Hibberdene SAPS at 039 6999800.
