No case registered for hijacking
They were also robbed of their cellphones and cash.
NOT only is the Umdoni area rife with crime at the moment, but a group of skilled robbers is on the loose and, despite the fact that the SAPS need all the information they can get to solve crimes as soon as possible, the men held up during the armed robbery of a delivery vehicle have chosen not to open a case as yet.
Several men were recently hijacked by unknown assailants, who held them up at gunpoint, took control of their vehicle and allegedly drove them to nearby bushes where they were robbed of their cellphones and cash.
The incident took place in the Sezela area and information suggests that the assailants took off in what was described as a green VW Polo.
Anyone with information which could assist the SAPS is urged to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111, or their nearest police station.
“The complainants were in a hurry to get to Durban and did not open a case for investigation. They said that if they do open a case, they will do so at a later stage,” confirmed Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.
