Drug-laced food lands man in jail

The man was arrested and appeared in court today (Tuesday).

DRUG smugglers are getting more creative these days in their efforts to traffic narcotics.

This week a man (29) came to Port Shepstone police station to drop off food for a detainee in the police cells.

However, police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said that the shift commander examined the container of yogurt and a loaf of bread and discovered 10 Mandrax tablets and 26 heroin capsules hidden inside the food.

The man was arrested and appeared in court today (Tuesday).
