School shoes make tracks
The getaway vehicle was left abandoned on the side of the road in Izingolweni.
QUICK thinking by a Port Edward store manager helped police recover a stolen vehicle and goods on Tuesday this week.
Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the manager reported that a woman had helped herself to boxes of new school shoes and run out of the store.
“He followed her and saw her get into a blue Renault sedan. He claimed he saw two men, one with a firearm, in the vehicle before it sped away,” she said.
Port Shepstone Organised Crime Unit, which was in the Izingolweni area, spotted the vehicle abandoned at the side of the road.
The stolen shoes, various documents and cards were found in the vehicle.
