No sleep for the wicked

No arrests have been made as yet and anyone with information is urged to contact the SAPS.

WHILE peacefully asleep in their beds, a mother and her son may very well be thankful that they are such heavy sleepers and avoided what could have been a much worse situation.

“A residence in Williamson Street, Scottburgh was burgled sometime between 11.30pm on Wednesday, January 4 and 7.30am on Thursday, January 5. A TV, cellphone and wallet containing bank cards were among the items stolen,” said Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum.

It appears as though entry was gained through a window which had been left open.

When the son told his mother the following morning that someone had switched on the lights at around 3.30am, they realised something was amiss and, upon investigating, they discovered that they had been burgled.

Scottburgh SAPS has registered a case of housebreaking to investigate the break-in.

No arrests have been made as yet and anyone with information is urged to contact the SAPS at 039-9781900/9917/18 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111. Investigations continue.
