A MAN from central Africa was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for dealing in dagga and six months for being in the country illegally.
The 30-year-old man could not produce any documents proving he was in the country legally.
Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said Detective Warrant Officer Koos Prinsloo from Port Shepstone, together with officers from Crime Intelligence and the Port Shepstone K9 unit, arrested the man during a sting operation in the Southport area on November 24.
“Musa Mkhabela was arrested for being in possession of 345 grams of dagga, valued at about R1 035. The man sold dagga to an undercover agent,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
