THREE suspects who were found in possession of illegal firearms and ammunition were arrested during an intelligence-driven operation at Umkomaas, KwaMakhutha and Folweni on Monday evening.
The arrests were made by officers from Durban Public Order Police, assisted by Crime Intelligence.
One of the arrested suspects was found in possession of three unlicensed 9mm pistols: a Beretta, a Luger and a P220 with ammunition, said Provincial SAPS communications officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane.
All the men were aged between 38 and 45 years.
