Hibberdene Academy’s first day starts well

Hibberdene Academy congratulates junior primary HOD Shay Breytenbach on her recent NILD qualification.

HIBBERDENE Academy was a hive of structured, organised activity last Wednesday with new pupils in the RR and gr 1 classes, as well as those enrolled into other grades up to gr 12.

Headmaster Brian Algie and teachers were pleased with the smooth start to the 2017 school year. Pupils were animated and happy to see each other and their favourite teachers. The school once again congratulates the 2016 matric pupils on their 100 percent pass rate.

Shay Breytenbach (registered gr 2 teacher) attended a NILD (National Institute for Learning Development) Level 1 course in Johannesburg and is now a qualified NILD educational therapist intern.

NILD assists pupils with learning difficulties like dyslexia and ADHD. Mrs Breytenbach, who was a student of NILD while at school, is one of the first to move from being a pupil to becoming a trained therapist under the tutorship of well-known expert therapist Bridget Wren.
