POLICE recently arrested a suspect wanted in connection with various burglaries in Scottburgh.
Detective Constable Cliffy Pillay spotted the suspect at Checkers in Scott Street and tailed him from the shop. He realised he needed to call for back-up after the suspect got into a taxi.
Detective Warrant Officer Yugen Moodley and two reservist constables responded and the joint effort resulted in them successfully pulling over the taxi and arresting the suspect.
“He is suspected of being involved in a number of burglaries in the Scottburgh area,” said Port Shepstone SAPS communications officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
The suspect appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court where he was remanded back into police custody pending further investigation.
