ATM thieves stopped in their tracks

The stolen bank card was found in their possession.

A GANG of four was stopped and arrested for their involvement in snatching a bank card from an ATM in Hibberdene recently.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said someone was drawing money at an ATM in the town when a man approached and began pressing the buttons on the machine, saying he had forgotten his slip.

“During the  disturbance, the man managed to take the victim’s card before fleeing is a silver sedan,” she added.

The alarm was raised and community members together with officers from a security company managed to stop the vehicle.

When Hibberdene police arrived, the four occupants of the car were arrested and will face charges of theft.  police also arrived at the scene.

Lt-Col Wiid said the bank card was found in their possession.
