PORT Shepstone Secondary’s newly-elected Representative Council of Learners attended a workshop aimed at identifying potential or unique leadership styles at Genesis Youth Centre last week.
The course included team building exercises, effective communication skills and conflict resolution.
The pupils learned that being in a leadership position communication is key and decisions they made affected the entire student body.
Pupils had an opportunity to bond while working together on strategic planning exercises. RCL chairman Luyanda Nzama and deputy chair Danielle Redman said that with their newfound skills, leaders were equipped to lead to the best of their abilities.

The school bids a sad farewell to retiring teachers Ramchand Manilal and Marcus Nagooroo.
Mr Manilal joined the school in 1981 as an Afrikaans teacher and was then promoted to HOD languages.
Mr Nagooroo served as a physical education and mathematics teacher since 1978. Both teachers will be sorely missed and are wished a happy retirement.
