‘Suite’ discovery of a different kind in Umzumbe sugarcane field
Sofas, cupboards, tables, beds and many more items were found hidden in the canefields.
ALMOST an entire load of household furniture was found hidden in a sugarcane plantation in Umzumbe last Friday morning.

Envirowatch security guards, Eric Shabalala and Eric Ndovela, were dropped off by their manager, Charlie Chiliza, to conduct their regular foot patrols when they stumbled across the stash.
“Sofas, cupboards, tables, beds and many more items were found,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
The guard reported the find to the farmer, who contacted Southport SAPS.
Police established that the furniture had in fact been taken from a house on an adjacent small holding. The owner of the house is currently away in Cape Town.
