Police ‘weed’ out three dagga growers at Izingolweni
The arrests came after police received information about the crops.
ON Tuesday last week police seized 215 dagga plants at Izingolweni.
Although medicinal cannabis is well on the road to being legal, police are still determined to stamp out the use of the drug for recreational purposes.

The Station Commander Lieutenant-Colonel Qinisela Mabhida, Crime Prevention Commander Captain Philani Khowa and six other officers were on duty doing crime prevention duties at Nkulu Ward.
“While patrolling, information was received which led police to arresting the three men,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

Velephi Shozi (60) was arrested for having 70 dagga plants, Skhumbuzo Makhanya (40) for 63 plants and Duduzile Mqadi (67) 82 plants.
They were charged with the cultivation of dagga. All the suspects paid admission of guilt fines at Izingolweni Police Station.
