Man wanted for robbery is arrested at Harding taxi rank

One of the suspects was arrested and charged but the other managed to escape.

A SUSPECT  in a robbery case who had been evading police since December last year, has been arrested .

The man (25) was nabbed at the Harding taxi rank by Harding detectives.

On the morning of December 26 a man (24), was hitch hiking at Maveshe area, in Murchison. “Two men, who claimed that the man had stolen from them, attacked him, stabbed him and robbed him of a sum of cash before fleeing,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.

One of the suspects was arrested and charged but the other managed to escape.

Last Thursday Lieutenant-Colonel Zenzele Khumalo and Detective Sergeant Lucky Gumede  traced the suspect to the taxi rank in Harding where they arrested him. He was charged with the robbery and is due to appear in Port Shepstone court soon.
