Serial thief Genius to spend the next 8 years behind bars for his crimes

His three year crime spree has come to an end.

HABITUAL criminal, Mondli Genius Cele, appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court on  March 7, where he was convicted and sentenced for a spate of crimes which ranged from 2013 through to 2016 and included various housebreakings and a charge of copper theft.

He faced four charges of housebreaking for which he received a sentence of five years in each case.

These sentences are to run concurrently.

The charge of theft earned him an additional three years.

The magistrate stated that Cele had no respect for other people’s rights and that he was regarded as a serial thief.
