Card cloners arrested in Hibberdene after targeting elderly woman
A 79-year-old woman was caught by surprise an ATM in Hibberdene last Friday.
SWIFT action from traffic officials and security guards prevented an elderly woman from losing a substantial sum of cash – and resulted in an arrest – in Hibberdene last Friday.

The woman (79) was withdrawing money at an ATM when she was approached by a man who began pressing random buttons on the machine while she was still busy.
The woman asked him to go away, but he continued. A car guard alerted the manager of a nearby business who came to the woman’s assistance.
“The man ran away and jumped into a white sedan,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. “Traffic officials and security guards chased after the man and managed to stop the vehicle.Various bank cards, cash, police pepper spray and a knife were found in the vehicle.”

Two men were taken to the Hibberdene police station and charged with the possession of suspected stolen property. They will appear in court soon. The car was also impounded.
The woman subsequently received two notifications on her cell phone that attempts had been made to withdraw a substantial amount of cash from her account.
