Mtwalume man murdered for R4-million life insurance policy
The killer was not related to his victim.
THE MAN responsible for shooting and killing Sanele Bopo Gumede from Mtwalume a year ago has finally been sentenced.
On March 29, 35-year-old Gumede was found in his vehicle with several gunshot wounds to the chest and neck.
He died at the scene near the Turton taxi rank in Mtwalume.

Detective Sergeant Thulebona Khomo of Hibberdene Detective Service investigated and arrested Ntokozo Sabela Maphanga (27).
It was established that a life insurance policy of more than R4-million was taken out on Mr Gumede a month prior to his murder.
Maphanga, who is not related to Gumede, was convicted in the Ramsgate High Court last Friday and sentenced to 22 years’ imprisonment for murder and a further 12 years for fraud.
