POLICE arrested three foreign nationals and a 25-year-old local last Friday. The arrests were made after Lazer 911 security officers apprehended the local in Oslo Beach, which led police to arrest the foreigners.
Security officers arrested the man in the yard in Kvalsig Road, Oslo Beach last Friday, when he tried to break into a home. Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the same house had also been burgled the previous Sunday and two laptops, one Sony playstation and other items such as jewellery and clothes had been stolen.
“The robber was wearing some of the clothes and a watch which had been stolen during the house break-in on Sunday. He was handed over to Port Shepstone police by the security officer,” she said.
Warrant Officer PC Naicker, W/O Sydney Seaton and Constable Wallace Daniels from Port Shepstone SAPS, did further investigations and established that some of the property had been sold to a foreign national, who was later arrested in the Port Shepstone CBD.
“He could not produce valid documents to be in the country. The Sony playstation was found in his house in Albersville,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
She added that another foreign national (26), who also could not produce legal documents to be in the country, was arrested and one stolen laptop was found in his house in Albersville.
Another stolen laptop was also recovered from a third foreign national (28), found in his house in Betania. He also did not have legal documents to be in the country.
The 25-year-old robber was charged with housebreaking, theft and possession of stolen property. The three foreign nationals will be charged with possession of stolen property and also for an offence under the immigration act.

They all appeared in Port Shepstone court on Monday this week and the case was postponed to today (Thursday). One of the men has a valid passport until next month.
If the men are convicted and sentenced, they will have to serve their sentence and then be deported.
