UPDATE: Margate stabbing victim was not a farmer – police
The attack took place at the corner of Uplands and Erasmus Roads.

A STORY circulating on social media that the man who was stabbed to death in Erasmus Road last Saturday was a farmer is not correct.
Police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, has confirmed that the man (25) was not a farmer.
Provincial police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane, said the attack took at the corner of Uplands and Erasmus Roads at about 7pm.
“The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and no arrests have been made,” he said.
Lt-Col Zwane urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

AT around 7pm last night, Netcare 911 paramedics were called to Erasmus Road, Margate where they found a man, believed to be in his 30s, on the ground.
He had been stabbed twice in the chest.

“Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries,” said Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha.
Police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka confirmed the incident, saying, “The man has not been identified at this stage.”
He add that no arrests have been made but investigations are continuing.
