NEWS broke yesterday afternoon of a shooting in which an unidentified man was apparently murdered in what was believed to be another taxi-related hit.
Today, provincial Saps communications officer, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele confirmed the murder.
“At about midday the victim was at a garage in Umkomaas when he was fatally shot by suspects travelling in a white Mercedes Vito,” he said.

The man was shot several times in the stomach and head and was certified dead at the scene by Voluntary Emergency Medical Assistance paramedics.
The motive for the attack is unknown at this stage.
