Collaborative partnership to fight crime in Umkomaas
Umkomaas Saps praised all role players for coming together for this active partnership.
Umkomaas Saps Social Crime Prevention Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Community Safety and Liaison, took a significant step in strengthening local crime fighting efforts by conducting a comprehensive training session for newly elected community policing forum sub-forum members.
The successful training initiative was held at Power of God Church in Umgababa last Saturday.
The primary objective of the session was to equip the newly appointed members with a clear understanding of their responsibilities, roles and operational mandates.
Led by Umkomaas Social Crime Prevention members alongside Mbuso Shobede from Community Safety and Liaison, the session provided detailed guidance on the do’s and don’ts of community policing, establishing a firm framework for how daily grassroots operations should be conducted safely and legally.
Some 50 sub-forum members attended the event, reflecting a strong community commitment to restoring safety and order in the Umkomaas policing precinct.
The interactive session fostered deep engagement regarding the implementation of proactive crime prevention strategies.
