A farewell function was held at Umthunzi  Hotel and Conference in Umtentweni recently. Major-General Sethenya Nxamagele of Ugu Cluster and station commander Brigadier Sandra Nala thanked the retiring officers for their loyal service to the organisation and their expertise in their respective fields.

Lieutenant-Colonel Dawood Kader joined the Saps in July 1982 and has had a varied police career in human resource management, visible policing, crime prevention as well as communication, liaison and marketing, in which capacity he worked closely with reporters at the South Coast Herald.

Lt-Col Kader expressed appreciation for the friendships that he had formed over the years and the support of his colleagues.

He added he was greatly looking forward to spending quality time with his wife, Judy and their two children.

Captain Zithulile Zama from Port Shepstone Detective Service began his policing career in March 1986 and served in Ulundi, Umlazi, Msinsini, Umzinto and the Port Shepstone Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit. Captain Zama also received several medals for long service. During his policing career he enjoyed the constant support of his wife, Princess and his two sons and daughter.

Saps Port Shepstone wishes both officers all the best during their retirement.
