The South Coast Herald recently published a damning front page article entitled ‘Licensing centre is a ‘nightmare’. Subsequent articles, ‘Letters to the Editor’ and social media messages highlighted the chaotic state of this department. LBRA made a statement regarding this ineffective and frustrating RNM department which negatively affects and impacts on the community of Leisure Bay. A communication was sent to RNM senior officials and councillors regarding continued unacceptable service despite various so-called turnaround strategies that were supposed to have been implemented. The association received a response from RNM’s public safety’s head of department Sibusiso Nzimande, stating the department was “doing everything possible to remedy the situation as speedily as possible”.
Leisure Bay Conservancy will hold an Open Gardens Weekend on June 16 and 17. There are four gardens and R30 per ticket includes a visit to all four over the weekend. For further information visit www.leisurebay-conservancy.co.za or email leisurebay123@gmail.com.
