Another ANC Lower South Coast Region branch member has been shot dead, less than a week after a senior branch member was murdered in the Umzumbe area.

Sifiso Cele (42) the ANC LSC Oshabeni branch treasurer in the Ray Nkonyeni Municipalty sub-region, was shot dead this morning (Monday) at a house in Margate ext 3.
Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka confirmed the incident, saying police had received a call from a woman in Margate ext3 at 6.38am.
“When the police arrived, the 32-year-old woman, believed to be Me Cele’s partner, led police to to where a man was lying. He had been shot,” he said.
Apparently, Capt Mfeka added, two unknown gunmen had entered the home by force and demanded cash and cellphones from the couple, whose children witnessed this. The suspects reportedly then took Mr Cele to a bedroom where they shot him before fleeing.
ANC KwaZulu Natal has confirmed the news in a statement, saying the party was ‘deeply saddened by the vicious murder’.
ANC Oshabeni members were asked to remain calm and let the police do their work.
