Just In: Heart attack claims life of sani2c cyclist (39)
Advanced life support paramedics transported Mr Pieterse to the Hilton Life Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
Tragic news surfaced yesterday when it was reported that 39-year-old KAP sani2c cyclist, Christo Pieterse died after suffering from an acute myocardial infarction.
Mr Pieterse, a Centurion resident, had completed some 48 kilometers of stage 1.
Advanced Life Support paramedics transported Mr Pieterse to the Hilton Life Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

KAP Sani2c founder and race organiser, farmer Glen Haw: “We are devastated about this. It is the first time in the 14-year history of the event that we have lost a life, and Christo has done the race five times before.”
“He was an experienced rider. We are in contact with the family and send them our deepest condolences,” Mr Haw said.
Mr Pieterse leaves behind two sons, aged six and nine, as well as his wife.
